CellSniper is a mobile phone application which helps in tracing of lost or stolen phones. Once installed in your phone, set two mobile phone numbers of your contacts to whom the alert messages will be sent in the event of loss of the handset.

In case you lose your phone and as soon as the new user begins using the handset with a new SIM, it sends alert messages to the two above mentioned mobile phone users which displays the mobile phone number of the new user as well as his SIM (IMSI) number (which is unique to each SIM).

CellSniper allows you to lock the phone every time your mobile phone is restarted. So incase your phone has CellSniper and you have enabled both alert messages and lock then the new user will now only find the mobile phone locked and unusable but your friends will receive alert SMS from the new users number.

Additionally it facilitates in deleting your native Contacts, Inbox & Outbox SMS, and Drafts, MMS, video and image files on your misplaced phone. This can be done remotely from any other mobile just by sending a single SMS (In a predefined format). Once CellSniper alert messages are received and the new number operating on your mobile phone are known then you can simply send a wipe SMS and delete all the above mentioned.

CellSniper also locks the phone on every restart to prevent any accidental loss of private information. In addition, users can remotely lock their phone by sending a lock SMS from any phone, containing the lock authorization code.
